چکیده

With the aim of introducing laser-arc hybrid welding (LAHW) into field large steel shipbuilding, a study was carried out to construct T-shaped fully penetrating welded joint with weld length 3,000 mm in one pass. Tack for installation members, which is preliminary step LAHW, by CO2 gas shielded arc welding. Since effect main LAHW on tack has not been sufficiently confirmed, investigations were also out. As result repeated experiments, completed before laser irradiation, unlike previous studies. The performance evaluated Radiographic test and macroscopic observation line cross-section accordance "Laser-Arc Hybrid Welding Guideline" published Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, (ClassNK) it confirmed that could be obtained within acceptable range. Considering fatigue cause damage joints, joints investigated. result, strength T-joint using flux-cored wire superior preceded irradiation solid wire. Furthermore, all cracks, fluctuating study, located at toe back side flange method proposed this study. This favorable or maintenance because reduces number monitoring positions cracks. In addition, application Λ-shaped groove promising as increase speed extend range possible thicknesses, challenge thick plates.

Control of Welding Residual Stress for Dissimilar Laser Welded Materials

The most common problem of welding dissimilar metals (DMWs) with respect to residual stresses is the differences in the coefficient of thermal expansion and heat conductivity of the two welded metals. In the present work, a CO2 continuous laser welding process was successfully applied and optimized for joining a dissimilar AISI 316 stainless steel and low carbon steel plates. The Taguchi approa...

Laser Welding under Vacuum: A Review

Laser welding has been widely used in various industry fields. In order to further alter and broaden its applicability, a novel technology of laser welding under vacuum is introduced. The combination of high power laser and low ambient pressure provides an excellent welding performance and quality. In this paper, an overview on laser welding under vacuum is presented. It begins with a short int...

Gas tungsten arc welding

Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, is an arc welding process that uses a nonconsumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. The weld area is protected from atmospheric contamination by a shielding gas (usually an inert gas such as argon), and a filler metal is normally used, though some welds, known as autogenous welds, do not require it. A const...

Submerged Arc Welding: A Review

In industries and research organizations most widely used welding methods are shield metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW). The SAW process is often preferred because it offers high production rate, high melting efficiency, ease of automation and low operator skill requirement. This review will be very helpful for...
